PCCCS #154 ~ Love Life

This is my second time playing PCCCS Sketch Challenge and needless to say their sketches definitely encourage me to think outside of my card making box!
Here is my take on their sketch this week...

Here is their sketch that inspired my card...
http://www.papercraftcrew.com/pcccs-154-card-sketch/

I used one of my favorite Stampin' Up! Kits A Happy Thing from their Sale-A-Bration. When I saw the circles I immediately thought of the lemon stamp from this kit. I was brave enough to "fussy" cut the lemons...I still need to work on that skill! For the lemons I used Daffodil Delight and the leaves are Old Olive (my favorite green). I stamped the sentiment and lemons with Memento Tuxedo black. I colored in the lemons and leaves with SU! Stampin' Write markers (the same colors as the ink). I recently purchased SU! Dots and Stripes Decorative Masks and when I saw the stripes on the sketch I thought why not try it out on this card? I used Daffodil Delight and a sponge dauber to make the stripes...I liked how it turned out and glad that I bought it! I used Whisper White for the base of the card and the second layer...I used some Old Olive ribbon (which I had had for a long time) to break up the second layer. I used SU! 1 1/4 circle punch for the sentiment. On the second layer I used 2" circle punch and then using my Decorative Dots Embossing Folder I punch a 2 1/2" circle punch and glued that behind the 2" circle. I love it when I look at a sketch and immediately have stamps and embellishments pop into my head!

"Pinspired" Clean and Simple Thanks

Here is my "Pinspired" Clean and Simple Card this Week...
I have pinned so many different sketches on Pinterest that sometimes I don't know which one to choose! Recently I pinned this one which I inspired me to make this week's card...

I love the simplicity of this sketch plus I am a big fan of adding tags to cards. I recently went to the Scrapbook Expo and bought several dies including stitched dies. For the base of the card I used Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake but still call it "Kraft"...For the tag die I used Reverse Confetti Tag Me Die...I used October Afternoon Summer Time "Fresh Fruit" DSP...another purchase from the Scrapbook Expo on the top and Stampin' Up! Whisper White on the bottom. The square is also October Afternoon Summertime "Fresh Fruit"...For the Thanks die I used Paper Smooches which I carefully glued to the tag! For the ribbon I used Stampin' Up! Lost Lagoon and a clothespin from Recollections to hold the ribbon...The stitched circle and square dies are from Memory Box...I love the look of the stitch around the edge!

Freshly Made Sketches #195 ~ Can't Thank You Enough...

In June I had a chance to go to the Scrapbook Expo which I really had a lot of fun at. While there I bought several different die cuts including the one that I used on this card. When I saw the sketch for this week's challenge these die cuts came to mind! What also caught my eye was the simplicity of this sketch which is right up my alley! I love making CAS cards! I am spending time at my parent's house this week and luckily I decided to bring these die cuts! For the paper I used Bella Blvd. tiny tots...I love the bright colors (another purchase from the Scrapbook Expo) especially against white! The circle dies are Memory Boxes Stitched Circle Layers. I used SU! Whisper White and Real Red card stock. I also used one of my favorite stamp sets by them Lovely Amazing You. For the sentiment I used Stampin' Up! Pacific Point. For the second layer of card stock I used SU! Large Polka Dot embossing folder. At first I added a bit of ribbon to the sentiment circle but then decided it looked a lot more cleaner without. This sketch was definitely a fun one to case!

CYCI#78 A Color Challenge ~ Thanks Much

Greetings from Sunny New Mexico! This week I am at my parent's house with my son and enjoying the beautiful mountains and no humidity! When my mother told me she would set up a table for me in their living room I thought why not pack a suitcase full of stamping supplies. I definitely had a hard time deciding what to bring so I threw a bunch of stamps, inks, punches, paper, and die cuts and hoped for the best!
This week's challenge for CYCI is...
http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=2026

Here is my take on this week's sketch...
I am a big fan of black and white especially when you throw in a deep red. I chose SU! Cherry Cobbler as the third color for this combination. The stamp set I used is SU! Six Sided Sampler and their hexagon punch. The base of the case and the second layer is SU! White Whisper. To give the second layer of white card a little something extra I used SU! Honeycomb embossing folder...I am happy how that turned out...I looked through my ribbon stash and this black chevron ribbon caught my eye...I think it ties in well with the different patterns in this card...All in all I am happy with how this card turned out...

OSAT Blog Hop ~ Christmas in July

Hi there! Welcome to this month's OSAT Blop Hop! This month's theme is Christmas in July which I love the idea since it is never to early to start thinking about what kind of crafts you can make for friends and family. I played around with a lot of ideas in my head and what I ended up making was not one of them! Needless to say I went back to the drawing board several times!
During the holiday season we go to a lot of parties and thought what would make a great hostess gift?
I pulled out my Stampin' Up! Christmas paper plus their tree punch and all sorts of ideas ran through my head...
Here is what I came up with...

I recently purchased Stampin' Up! Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies and thought the bag would be the perfect size for a little thank you note!

For the note card I cut the paper 3 1/2 x 5 which fit perfectly inside the treat bag..I added the ribbon on top to make it easy to pull out of the bag...
For the wine tag I cut the paper 3 x 8 and I scored at 2 inches...
I like how it all turned out and will definitely be making more of these as we get closer to the holiday season!
Thank you for stopping by! Please leave a comment...I love to read them!
Happy Stamping!

CYCI# 77 A Sketch Challenge ~ Life Liberty and Flip Flops...

When I saw this week's CYCI challenge it jumped out at me because it fits my CAS style
Here is their sketch...
CYCI#77..

Here is my take on it...
I am a huge flip flop fan and when I saw this a couple of years ago on vacation I had to have it! The stamp is by Deadbeat Designs which is out of Texas. Every summer my son and I head out to visit my parents in New Mexico and I found a stamp store in Santa Fe that I go to every year. I found this stamp on my first trip there and every year I go back I find more!
The paper that I used is from Fancy Pant's Summer Sun collection. During the Scrapbook Expo I went to a class where they gave out several free samples and this collection was one of them. Not only do I love the flip flop paper but I love the fun bright colors. While at the expo I found lots of fun dies including the two I used on this card....Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Oval Stackables and Impression Obsession's Flip Flop die. For the ink I used Stampin' Up! Melon Mambo including their Whisper White card stock and Tango Twist stitched ribbon. I used a little bit of yellow DMC floss to tie the ribbon...
It was a fun and easy card to make...I love CAS sketches! Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment...I love to read them!

Can't Thank You Enough...

Today I tried out my new stamp kit Flower Shop and after looking at a lot of fun ideas on Pinterest,  I am really glad that I choose it as one of my free kits when I became a demonstrator. I don't know about you but I am addicted to Pinterest. I believe I have over a thousand pins for stamping alone. My two biggest boards are Card Sketches and Card Ideas to Try. Today's card is from a pin that I pinned several weeks ago after first seeing this set in the new catalog. This pin certainly caught my eye mostly because of the two colors that were used..blue and yellow. I am a big fan of combining these two colors together. These colors look very crisp to me...
Here is what I came up with from that Pin

I added one more thing...I took a white envelope and stamped the same flower that I used on the card..I like how the blue stands out from the white...

I love this kit and all six different flowers it has...I have ordered that punch that goes along with it...it is supposed to arrive this Thursday so I will definitely try it out with this set as soon as I get it! I also used one of my favorite kits Lovely Amazing You...although I have several favorite kits this is definitely my go to for that perfect sentiment...I am a big sentiment person...Below I have listed the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this project...
Thanks for stopping by and leave a comment if you like...I love to read them!
